Kathleen Stitzlein

Founder/CEO and Research Director

A mechanical and biomedical engineer, Kathy has over 20 years of product development experience, from prototype through production. She has deep expertise in pressure vessel and heat exchanger design, including mechanical and thermal design.

​

At TripleBeam, Kathy manages the development of the QMIT technology, using microfluidic principles to quantitatively detect THC levels below 5ng/ml in drivers' oral fluid. Her responsibilities also include design of research protocol, development of statistical analysis plan, lab set-up and maintenance, and supervision of student research assistants.

​

Kathy has a BS in Biomedical Engineering, MS in Mechanical Engineering, and is currently a Principal Investigator and Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Akron.

​

In 2017 Triple Beam Technologies was a recipient of the Ohio Third Frontier Technology Validation and Start-up Fund with matching funds provided by
The University of Akron.

Kathy's concept was a winner of the 2015 LaunchTown™ Entrepreneurship Awards and has been featured in The Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Akron Beacon Journal, television news programs, National Public Radio, The Conan O’Brien Show, and Yahoo News.

Justin Stitzlein

Business Development Director

Justin has a BS in Finance and Economics from Ohio University and is pursuing a MS in Finance at the University of Colorado. His background experience includes sales and marketing positions. Justin’s responsibilities include identifying potential market segments, creating a strategic roadmap for Triple Beam and working with external sources to complete a financial valuation.

James Croskey

Advisory Board, Strategic Planning

James serves as a consulting financial expert for Triple Beam Technologies.
In this capacity, he provides input to the management team in regard to raising capital and company structuring. James has over a decade of experience in sales management, business operations, and financial markets. He is currently the Comptroller for the Loudonville Farmers Equity, an Ohio supplier of agricultural products and services.

Mark Stitzlein

Advisory Board Director

Mark is the owner and General Manager of Shearer Equipment, a dealership specializing in the sales, maintenance, and repair of John Deere agricultural equipment. Under his leadership, Shearer Equipment has grown to over 160 employees, and annual sales have increased from $24M to over $100M/year. With a Mechanical Engineering degree and extensive experience running and growing small businesses, Mark's expertise is invaluable in understanding the business challenges that lie ahead for Triple Beam Technologies. His primary responsibilities involve raising capital and prioritization of company resources.

Bohdan Chopko, M.D., Ph.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Bohdan is a practicing neurosurgeon and biomedical device researcher.
He is an Associate Professor of Anatomy and Neurobiology at Northeast Ohio Medical School and the Co-founder of Silver Bullet Therapeutics, an orthopedic device company. Bohdan will assist with biomarker studies, clinical trials and FDA approval processes on an as-needed basis.
